Not only are my kids the cleanest kids around for the day, so is my house...and that just lasted until the end of the day....to go back to being like pretty much every other household with two young children. Well, here's how the story goes. Piper didn't want to eat dinner Monday night and I pretty much made her eat her dinner. She is in this stage where she says she's not hungry but really just wants to be doing something else, so I wasn't going to let her get away with it that night...and she ate with much grumbling about it but she ate. We had bath time and did our normal bedtime routine and the kiddos went to sleep. About 11:30 I hear Piper in her room coughing...sounds normal so I don't go check...about thirty seconds later I hear the panic. I go in and she is laying face down in her puke but still half asleep. I think she woke up long enough to let me know that she wasn't OK and then decided that she didn't need to stay awake for the cleanup. I got her in a towel and got her in the bathtub...thankfully it wasn't in the hair so we did a quick bath. She got out and immediately said she didn't feel good and hung over the toilet for another go round. I put her sheets in the wash...and by the way this is just two days after we cleaned house and all the beds had new clean sheets. Then we got her in new jammies and she got in our bed. I got a towel...just in case...we've been through this before. She went right back to sleep. I layed down with her b/c at this point it was late and now time for me to go to sleep...but alas...what do you think happened? It happened in the blink of an eye before I could get the towel ready for the catch...now this time it was everywhere, including her hair so we headed to our bathroom and once again had another bath including a hair washing. Our sheets were now headed to the washer, just in time to go in after Piper's were finished. Needless to say, I didn't put her back in our bed...we went to the couch. She wanted to watch a movie and I was just too exhausted to argue so we half watch the movie and snoozed some until dad came home. He brought home some Gatorade and sprite for later and helped get the sheets back on the bed. Piper went to her pallet on the floor (not taking the chance of having to change yet another set of sheets) and we went to bed.
Thankfully we had no more episodes during the night. I guess I should have listened to her that night...will think twice next time I make her finish her dinner.
I stayed home with Piper Tuesday and she still felt pretty yucky as she would recall ("Are you going to tell Daddy I was yucky tonight?"). We both got to sleep it off and I just was thankful it didn't go through the whole family...yet...
Sleeping it off...with a towel...Of Course!
Avery enjoyed the company that day...she was sleeping with her head on the pillow in front of the couch but I wasn't moving fast enough to get that shot.
