Me: Piper, can you go get the broom? I want to sweep the kitchen floor. It is so gross.
Piper: Sure. (coming back with the broom)
Me: Thanks, Piper! You are being a great helper.
Piper: Why are you sweeping? Is a visitor coming over?

Piper & Hattie
Two of the sweetest girls I know...and really great friends. Just like their mothers! :) Anyway, I haven't had much time to actually sit down and write about this slideshow so I am going to post it and hopefully getting back to the story behind it this weekend.
Enjoy the friendship that started before birth and hopefully will continue on through their lifetime no matter what the distance is between them.

Surprise for Me!!!
I was totally surprised when I got home from my relaxing morning of breakfast at Madden's and getting a manicure and pedicure with Caitlyn. There were bunches of cars in my driveway and JB had planned a birthday party for me! It was so wonderful to know that he took the time to work with my buddies to plan this for me. I am so thankful for everyone who came and celebrated with me.

Daddy Daughter Dance
Boy did we have a busy weekend...much more exciting than I imagined! More on that later but the weekend started out with JB taking Piper to her first ever Daddy Daughter Dance that the Children's Museum sponsors.
I thought she would be super excited and I wanted it to be special for her. I ordered her a corsage and made her a hair appointment with Tina (our neighbor who is a hair stylist). I think in my right mind I wouldn't have made her a hair appointment or made a big deal about it but I had been thinking about the fun memories she would have from it.
Friday afternoon I picked her up early from school and she was totally PUMPED about getting her hair done and going to the dance. We talk on the way there about how she wants her hair done and agree out what we are about to do...no problems...happy kid. About 10 minutes into it my super excited 4 year old crashes and burns...we have a melt down. Nothing is right and we don't even get to finish the hair. At this point I have to take a deep breath and remember she is just four and that it really isn't that big of a deal. Tina is totally fine with it and continues to tell me not to worry about it that she will be fine. I come to the conclusion that she is tired, nervous, and felt pretty overwhelmed in the salon because people were commenting on her hair and stuff. Couldn't handle the pressure.
On the way home she decides she doesn't want to go and she would rather just sit in her room all night. We get home and calm down and things go back to normal...we are ready for the dance. So I have to figure out now how to finish her hair...and I am no hair person...I just pulled it back and that had to do. I couldn't even find my curling iron! We painted her nails and dad got home and they changed and were ready to go.

She had so much fun...much more than dad because Cinderella and Belle were much more fun to dance with than dad. :( There were so many fun activities and she got to bring home lots of cool prizes. She made a crown and picture frame, got to exfoliate their hands and create her own hand lotion with Bath Junkie, and colored her own shirt! I think Dad was more worn out than Piper and she came home glowing because she had such a great time!

Praying for Louis and Greg
Louis is our dear friend Tracy Perkins' dad. He was shot during a hunting accident on Wednesday. He is still in VERY critical condition and needs lot of prayer. They have set up a blog to update everyone on what is happening...from surgeries to blood drives to specific prayer requests.
Please keep them all in your prayers.
